I think you're right about the similarity between english and chinese ancient language when it comes to verses or poems. I sometimes feel modern chinese is less powerful in expression, less neat and tend to be prolix 1 w2 I! y0 u" B% b3 b7 h- G( V9 y# Z6 z" o& n1 [2 I
